Barefoot marathon in the bag.

Today I finished the Des Moines marathon barefoot!
After 2 days working at the expo I finished off with a 4:28:32 time and  I enjoyed every step!  I had fun even when it hurt and I kept moving and stepping lightly and gently. "Relax girl, you've got this" is what I told myself over and over and it worked!
Recap with videos to come.  Thank you all for your encouragement.  I thought about my bloggie friends so often.
Thank you Mel and Beth for the fuel tips.  I never hit the wall and I believe it was due to my fueling strategy.
Happy running and congrats to all those that ran this weekend!!! I can't wait to read your recaps.

  10. congrats! That's awesome. I'm totally going to use your blog to convince my husband he can run a marathon barefoot. He's been running barefoot for a while now, but is hesitant to race without shoes.

"you've got this" --- that is my favorite motivational statement I think to myself while running. It works.
