~Audrey Hepburn~
Supine Twist and Reclining Hero Poses are both part of my nightly bedtime practice that I do in bed. I find that the leg stretches brings the blood from my head to my lower body and allows my mind to wind down for sleep. I procrastinated and put off practicing today until much too late but when I looked at the poses for the challenges today I saw that it worked out well since they fit my routine already.
I love to look at comparison photos. The bellow photo was in the fall and above is a photo from tonight. I felt very comfortable in this pose tonight and I felt the lovely tingling of my quads and knees and hip flexors while laying there peacefully.
I remember feeling so stiff and uncomfortable in this below photo. I remember the discomfort in my knees and back. I remember thinking that it is going to take me forever if ever at all to be able to lay back. I remember laying back in this pose as a kid.
Today was a bit of a rough day. It started out well but I am experimenting with my digestive system and how to stay regular while taking an iron supplement. Blurg. I got stuck in a restroom while on our way downtown to pick up the kids from their weekly home instruction class. We were driving past and I just had to go so I told Jaymon to stop and I ran out and into the Capital Plaza building( I think its called that anyways). I got dehydrated and then of course felt dizzy and weak and all the nasty symptoms of dehydration. Blurg again. I had been feeling great too. I made some hummus and ate a bunch of peppers. Maybe too much fiber.....but it was sooooo good! I put Sriracha in the hummus!
So tonight I chilled with the superhero and watched Star Trek and then did some relaxing restorative yoga before bed. Im even writing this in bed, with the screen brightness down of course!
As I was stuck in this huge building that was making me dizzy to walk around was that I wished I could just do some yoga to calm down. Dehydration is crazy stuff. Instead I walked and used my breathing beads. I went into a closed resteraunt and asked for water and the guy there was such a dear to help me out. I will get it figured out on the whole supplement thing. The upside is that I didn't shit my pants. Yay! See, there is a silver lining to everything! If you are having a bad day just remember that if you didn't shit your pants then it couldn't have been all bad. If you did shit your pants, well it happens and again things could be worse.
